Curbrank is a small California-based team. We do three things for California contractors: bid intelligence (tracking the public contracts we can dedupe across California public buyers, deepest in Southern California), websites, and Google Business Profile management. That's the whole list. We're not pivoting to social media next quarter, we're not chasing a SaaS exit, and we're not building toward a sale.
Who's behind it
A small California-based team. The bid intelligence platform behind Curbrank tracks California public award records, with the deepest coverage in Southern California (San Diego, Orange County, Riverside, LA, and the Inland Empire), and pulls the full bid tab, winner, losing bidders, and amounts, on the contracts where the agency publishes it. Same team every month, no handoffs to junior accounts or offshore contractors.
Curbrank started because local contractors were getting crushed online by national chains and template franchise sites. The bid intel side grew out of doing the same thing for public-contract pursuits. The data was sitting in dozens of agency record systems that nobody bothered to read at scale, so we built a way to read them and turn the output into actionable reports. The pricing isn't bloated by overhead because there is no overhead, no sales team, no junior accounts, no offshore staff.
Why service and general contractors
Service contractors, plumbers, electricians, HVAC, landscapers, roofers, garage-door, pest control, cleaners, are the most underserved category in local digital marketing.
National "review platforms" like Birdeye and Podium target this segment with $400/mo software that's mostly upsell. Local SEO agencies charge $1,500-3,000/mo and produce vague reports. Most contractors give up and end up paying Yelp or Google Ads directly, neither of which is a long-term answer.
There's a clean middle. A modern website that loads fast on mobile + a Google profile that's actually managed = 80% of the digital marketing return for 30% of the cost.

What we believe
- Hide-the-ball pricing is hostile. Every price we charge is on this site.
- Real metrics, not vanity ones. "Impressions up 47%" is meaningless if the phone isn't ringing. I measure calls, profile actions, and ranking-map progress month over month.
- Cancel any time. Long contracts protect bad agencies, not clients. Our retainer is month-to-month.
- You own everything. The website, the domain, the analytics, the tracking number, the data. If you fire us, you keep all of it.
- Honest limits. We don't do paid ads, social media, or branding. If you need those, we'll tell you upfront and refer.
- Human-approved everything. Every post, every review reply, every report is reviewed by a human before it goes out the door. No autopilot.
- Worker dignity. The team that handles routine GBP work is paid fairly and stays consistent. No offshore churn.
The honest version
Curbrank is small. We're not the right answer for every contractor:
- If you're a national chain with 50+ locations, we're too small. Hire an enterprise platform.
- Starter branding (logo, cards, basics) is an optional add-on if you need it; if you already have a brand we use yours. For a deep brand identity system with full guidelines, hire a specialist designer.
- If you want someone to run paid ads, we don't do that, you need a Google Ads specialist.
- If you want to fight reviews you don't like, we don't do reputation management theater.
- If you want overnight ranking improvements, no agency can guarantee that, we're honest about it.
